Web Relaunch: Sweat Training

Are you ready to sweat? Are you ready to live a fit lifestyle? If so, look no further than our latest client - Sweat Training! Owner Danielle Korb needed a new site to showcase her rear-end kicking training program, and we are so happy to have been introduced by our mutual friend, Shannon at Salon Cherry Bomb!

We started with a complete site overhaul, integrating her social media presence predominately on each page (check out her Twitter feed on the main page)! We then redesigned her blog site Sweat Fit Lifestyle (using Google's Blogger platform) to seamlessly integrate into the regular site.

If you aren't a local Cincinnati resident and can't get to her physical gym, have no fear - Danielle has taken her plan online! We integrated a purchasing widget into the site so you can buy Sweat Fit's customizable Diet + Exercise Plan.

The S Family

Our neighbors, Theo and Diana, and their adorable kiddos A and S, gathered with family over Thanksgiving weekend for a quick photo session while everybody was in town (...and stuffed with turkey! And before the days' football games began!)

It was an easy commute for Scott and I; a quick hop across the front lawns and we were set & ready to go! If all photo shoots could be these close!

Web Relaunch: Carl Solway Gallery

Recently, Scott and I were lucky enough to land a website redesign for a well-respected art gallery in Cincinnati - the Carl Solway Gallery. The gallery is nearly 50 years old and is the only member of the ADAA (Art Dealers Association of America) in the tri-state area.

The focus of this redesign was to get most of their inventory (current exhibitions, available pieces, past exhibitions) online and to make the site navigation more user-friendly.

Even if you're not the typical "artsy" type, we highly recommend a visit to the Solway Gallery - you'll be amazed at what you might see!

Web Launch: The Shore Collection

We recently finished a custom website for private art collectors in Cincinnati - John and Ronnie Shore (The Shore Collection). Their impressive collection needed to be cataloged in an easy-to-navigate online format that would allow potential galleries to see each and every piece they own. The site also needed to be simple in design and compatible with a multitude of handheld devices and tablets.

As art enthusiasts, Scott and I were in awe of all the pieces in the gallery. However, one artist was brought to our attention and we both agreed his work is pretty amazing. Joe Fig creates detailed dioramas, then photographs the scene as if peeking in to a moment in the life of the subject. I really responded to his diorama of Jackson Pollack's barn studio and the corresponding photograph of the artist creating one of his signature masterpieces (last image, row 1; first three images, row 2):

Engagement Shoot: Daniel and Laura, Part Two

After a winter-themed part one engagement shoot to coincide with their upcoming New Year's Eve wedding, we finally connected with my brother Daniel and his fiance Laura to finish their engagement session.

We hit a lot of urban Cincinnati locations - Eden Park, the overlook at Mt. Adams by The Rookwood Restaurant, 6th Street in front of the old Maisonette Restaurant, and a hidden open art park by Longworth Hall, next to the Bengals stadium. We also did a few studio shots to wrap up the day.

Side note: You'll notice my brother is wearing a Louisville jersey and Laura is wearing her Ohio State jersey... hm... a house divided?

Web Relaunch: Norton Outdoor Advertising

It had been over two years since the last web redesign for Norton Outdoor Advertising - and with the upcoming launch of a new product, it seemed the perfect time to completely overhaul the company's website.

It's clean, simple and easy to navigate - the target visitor being a busy media buyer who doesn't have a lot of time to navigate through a cluttered site.

We also added a mobile-friendly site with basic information for those on a variety of hand held devices.

Becky's Baby Shower

Last weekend, one of my fabulous sorority sisters from college hosted a pajama-themed baby shower for another amazing sorority sister and mama-to-be, Becky.

Even though the weather in Cleveland was still on the winter side of spring, we dutifully arrived in our comfiest pj's and ate, drank and laughed all afternoon.

It was a wonderful day of celebrating the soon-to-be-born Baby A with old and new friends.

Tri-State Running Company, Part II

To round out the new website for the amazing running store Tri-State Running Company, Scott and I headed over to Edgewood, Ky to shoot a few interior shots. They have a hand-picked selection of quality running shoes in stock - they're not just carrying brands to fill space. (I'm still loving my now slightly-less-than-new Brooks Glycerin shoes we purchased there). The owners have definitely used the space to their advantage and stock anything and everything the casual and serious runner or walker would ever need!

Engagement Shoot: Dan and Laura, Part One

Right before the holidays, Scott and I were able to snag my brother Daniel and his lovely fiance Laura for a part one engagement session. We braved the falling temperatures, ice, traffic and snow to get a few shots that will tie in with their New Year's Eve 2011 wedding date. Mt. Adams and Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati provided the perfect backdrop for their engagement session... part two to come in the spring!

Custom Wedding Books: Virginia & Michael and Donielle & Wayne

Just finished two wedding books, the May wedding of Virginia and Michael and the July wedding of Donielle and Wayne.

The books reflected each couple's wedding... Virginia and Michael's chic Chicago downtown wedding called for a book with clean lines, minimalist design elements, and a lot of black and white photos; Donielle and Wayne's 40's, romantic Toledo train-station wedding called for a book with vintage elements and unfinished graphic treatments to the photos.

Photoshoot & Web Launch: Tri-State Running Company

Through a mutual acquaintance, Scott and I were lucky enough to meet and team up with a new running store in the Cincinnati area - Tri-State Running Company. The owners were in need of a simple, yet functional website and we are so excited with the final product. It's a place where customers can visit to get training tips, check upcoming events and see the latest product offerings.

To complete the site, we also did an outdoor photoshoot in areas surrounding the store in Northern Kentucky. It was a beautiful sunny November day and not too chilly - our models were able to sport some of the fab running gear (including shorts!) the store carries. My fav had to be the neon orange running shoes - if you're going to run, might as well run in style!

Baby Shower x2: Jenn and Heather

Since two of my amazing college friends, Jenn and Heather, are both due around the same time - it was without a doubt that a double baby shower was in order!

The day was perfect - lots of smiles, hugs, laughs and super cute baby stuff. And did I mention the cupcakes? Delish.

The weather that Sunday afternoon was amazing for November - we were able to sneak a few photos outside before the sun went down.

Belly Shoot: Jenn and Andy

A couple of weeks ago we did a belly session with awesome parents-to-be, Jenn and Andy. Jenn and I go way back to our sorority days in college -- we shared a lot of fun times during our years at Wittenberg. Now that she's the first of our group of friends to become pregnant, we're so excited to share even more memories to come.

We had such a blast with you all and can't wait to meet the new little one!

A warm, beautiful fall day a few weeks ago, we were honored to do a shoot with our good friends, Jenny and Josh, and their two little ones, Abram and Sloane. It seems that we've been the "official" family photographer - from Jenny and Josh's engagement photos, to their wedding, to the first family photoshoot with Abram, and now with Miss Sloane.

We strolled around Eden Park for a while, then took the cameras indoors for some studio shots. Thanks for allowing us to spend a fun couple of hours with you guys!

Web Launch: Salon Cherry Bomb

Salon Cherry Bomb, a local Cincinnati salon, recently chose Spencer Photo & Design to craft their first-ever website: www.saloncherrybombcincinnati.com. We worked closely with Shannon, the owner, to craft a site that reflects the non-traditional-but-chic salon style.

And as a customer of 5+ years, I HIGHLY recommend Shannon and her mad coloring skills (she was even sweet enough to allow me to model for a photo on the site). Check it out!

Jackie's Baby Shower

This past Sunday, I was a hop, skip and jump away from Cincinnati shooting the baby shower of the lovely momma-to-be Jackie at her home in Cold Spring, Ky. A mutual friend of ours (hi Maria!) flew in from New York City to host the event; I was super excited when she e-mailed and asked if I was free that day.

All of the little touches - from the baby's sonogram (smiling!) acting as the guest book to the ice cream sundae bar to the flavored pickle spears - made for a sweet & memorable day.

Donielle & Wayne

This past weekend, Scott and I (okay, mostly Scott) were honored to shoot the wedding of one of my dear college friends, Donielle. She and Wayne were married in an old warehouse in Toledo, Ohio, next to the city's train station. Words cannot even describe the time, love and sweat put in to planning and executing their master vision; the empty canvas was transformed into a romantic, Victorian-esque, apothecary wonderland.

Donielle was an editorial vision in a custom-designed gown and Wayne was classically handsome in his pin-striped suit. The bridal party - including myself - were decked out in '40's vintage-style apparel. The ceremony was lit by candlelight, as was the rest of the reception; dripping candelabras, black birdcages with candles hanging from the ceiling, hundreds of roses - it was a sight to behold.

Thank you both for such an amazing weekend.

Ashley & Eric

We had a great time shooting the engagement photos of Ashley and Eric on Sunday - even though the sun was out in full force! They were great sports, even in the heat.

I've known Ashley for quite a while now - we both cover the midfield and defense for our local club field hockey team. (We've had a number of memorable moments on the field!) When we're not playing, it's been fun to hear about how Ashley and Eric's relationship has developed over the years - moving in together, buying a house, and eventually getting engaged.

Virginia and Michael

We had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Virginia and Michael last weekend in Chicago - and did the windy city live up to its name! A drop in temperature and a few gusts couldn't keep the wedding party down - everyone did a fantastic job pretending to be warm while we hustled from location to location for pre-wedding photos.

The venue for the evening, The Blackstone, was artsy, historical and modern - an amazing backdrop for the lovely couple and their Greek, Russian and Jewish ceremony.

We have so many favorite shots that we couldn't choose from - so we're posting them all! Enjoy.

Custom Wedding Book: Stacy and Bjorn

I've been wanting to post this for a while, but didn't want to show the world the wedding book of Stacy and Bjorn before they actually got to see it themselves!

We were lucky enough to see the newlyweds this past weekend at the wedding of Virginia and Michael (Virginia is Stacy's sister... full post coming soon!) and were able to hand-deliver the book! We used a photo cover of the wedding rings set in the bridal bouquet; we also picked up patterns and colors of the wedding to use as inspirational design elements throughout the book.

Toni, Nick and Keegan

We met with our friends Toni, Nick and Keegan at Mt. Echo Park yesterday to do a family portrait shoot. The park is on the west side of city and has amazing views of the skyline. They are huge Bengals fans, so there was no doubt a few football shots were on the agenda. (We also were able to play a little baseball in keeping with the Cincinnati pro-sports theme!)

The location was significant for Toni and Nick - that's where he proposed and where they had their engagement session a few years back. Glad we were able to revisit such a special place!
